Do what you do best, teaching diving and handle the retail

let us handle the heavy weight for you

are you a dive shop owner?

Running a dive shop in Singapore is not an easy job. You work almost 7 days a week, 18 hours a day, and your work is still not done. We know how you feel, and we have been there. Do you remember when you first entered the diving industry, it was never just for profits, it was about passion and providing the best possible service to your friends and divers. And somewhere along the road, you probably got lost and wanted to do anything and everything on your own.

It does not have to be that way.

Doing it Right

Your main focus as an instructor or a dive shop owner is to provide the best services you can find or offer, and this includes scuba diving equipment maintenance and servicing.

Most dive shop owners are subcontracting, assign, or outsource scuba diving equipment such as BCD, regulator, dive computer battery change, and replacement. You have reassured your customers that their investments are in good hands, but DO YOU REALLY KNOW what is going on with your customers’ equipment with that freelance technician?

When you set your financial gains to make that extra few dollars from engaging the middlemen, are you really keeping your promises to your customers?

From our 30 years of experience in the area of equipment servicing, this is what we have seen and experienced and we will love it if you spent some time reading this.

Regulator Servicing and Dive Computer Battery Change and Replacement has protocols. They are not about cleaning a regulator and putting it back, and making sure it works.

Founder of Orpheus Dive.

Problems and comments we have heard in the last 20 years

  1. My regulator after servicing is not working as well as it was before.
  2. Wrong tools used in servicing, causing damages to the regulator
  3. Cheap silicone grease used during servicing
  4. Illegal modifications to customer regulator
  5. Inferior or third party parts
  6. Using glue because they have no access to replace damaged parts
  7. Unknown or unauthorized cleaning agents or solutions, causing damages to your customer regulator.
  8. Wrong greasing technique causing the regulator to either “drift” or “free flow”
  9. Unusable or free-flowing regulators, or flooded dive computers after servicing
  10. Misrepresentation of technicians, voiding Limited Warranty on your customer scuba diving equipment

ISN’T THIS AN AREA OF REVENUE

Yes, you are absolutely right. Equipment servicing is one area that makes money but it requires more time and dedication, not to mention it is also an area of high investments. There are specialized tools, more so for some brands, common tools, a good wood bench, bench fixtures, dedicated testing tools, air tanks, compressor, and the most costly investments, stocking up of virtually every brand of maintenance kits and movable parts of each model from each brand.

On average, a bare minimum investment would be about USD 20,000.00, excluding perishable such as maintenance kit, parts, MCG grease etc.

Based on the current market value of regulator servicing, for a new dive centre, it will take you 7 to 8 years just to break even your investment cost. Take the same amount of money and invest in rental BCD and regulators, you will probably breakeven faster.

And the investment of USD$ 20,000.00 is excluding dedicated training from each manufacturer, and some of our training is done only in DEMA.

partnering with a premium scuba equipment servicing centre

As a dive shop owner, you should be focusing mainly on your scuba diving courses and retail, where revenue is your bottom line. The heavyweight of equipment servicing, leave it to the people who specialize in it while ensuring your customers’ equipment is properly serviced, repaired, or maintained.

DETAILED SERVICE and maintenance REPORT

For each regulator, BCD, and dive computer you entrust with us, a detailed service report is provided. This ensures that your customer gets the best scuba equipment servicing available in Singapore. And the best part, you do not have to be part of this tedious process and still get your commission.

making money while you are teaching

You do not need to do anything. Once your customer drops off their equipment with us and is tagged to your dive centre, we will only correspond with you directly to ensure 100% confidentiality. At the end of each month, your commission will be issued you to your dive centre.

quick turn around time for all servicing

For scuba diving computers, your customers will get the computer within 30 minutes. For scuba regulator and BCD servicing, it will take an average of 3 working days to 7 working days.
